This is ridiculous. In Australia we have laws against watering lawns at certain times because we’re a nation that needs to be more water conserving. I’m not fully supportive of the laws but at least they have their reasons. Not only that police here you’re lucky to see once a blue moon.
This old lady gets this for NOT watering her lawn? Enforcing a law on what? Pretty lawns? I think the Officer is an idiot and has generated some wonderful police publicity.
We have similar hose-pipe ban laws here in the UK during ‘dry spells’, only they’re not a result of tropical temperatures and lack of rainfall; it comes down to United Utilities not bothering to fix burst mains and then punishing their customers for their own mismanagement of resources.
It does make you wonder what these ineffectual, jobs-worth police officers think they are achieving by locking up law-abiding citizens when there are real criminals to apprehend everywhere you look.
We also have burst mains problems. The pipes around this city are extremely old and cutting corners of the past is now upon us.
