Leaving an ER is always a pleasure, when under one's power and with no one checked into a bed! I'm glad he's okay - although concussions can be serious, it sounds like a mild one, thank goodness.

Problem is money doesn't fix it. It only allows CSS alterations. The template can never be altered.

The freely hosted version is uncrippled aside from lacking the ability to edit your template. That must be motivation enough to get people to upgrade. Maybe it's worth paying Wordpress to continue hosting and managing updates if you plan to fork out for your own server space anyway.

Nice review of Ubuntu Trias. I've been using it for a while now and quite honestly there's nothing that I did with XP that I can't do with Ubuntu. My experience is slightly different however, in that I was getting random crashing of the machine when using the 64 bit version. Could be something to do with running dual monitors or maybe a mistake I made in setting them up. I've now gone back to the 32 bit and that is very stable but I will try the 64 bit version again when the next release comes out in October.

We have similar hose-pipe ban laws here in the UK during 'dry spells', only they're not a result of tropical temperatures and lack of rainfall; it comes down to United Utilities not bothering to fix burst mains and then punishing their customers for their own mismanagement of resources.

It does make you wonder what these ineffectual, jobs-worth police officers think they are achieving by locking up law-abiding citizens when there are real criminals to apprehend everywhere you look.

I did a double take when I first heard about this problem and Howard's solution. Now I've expanded my snippet of knowledge I'm none the wiser on the connection between pornography, booze and child abuse.

Neither of these things turns loving parents into child abusers. That sort of pathology is a bit more deep-rooted in my opinion. Isn't it a wee bit patronizing too to say that decent, normal Aussies can handle booze and porn, but Aborigines must be baby sat?

Interesting to see the old argument about condoms encouraging underage sex rearing its head. Didn't the pope try that one? We all know how clued up he/they are.
